Hi, I'm Jonathan.
I'm a bitcoin enthusiast.
|
I'm very interested in the new digital money, Bitcoin, and projects that use it. A few of Bitcoin's advantages:
You can find out more about Bitcoin at bitcoin.org, and weusecoins.com. |

I'm a programmer.
|
For applications, I mainly use C# and Java, but have been known to dabble in C, C++ and ActionScript too. Recently, I've been taking time off from paid projects to work on my own research. You can look at my technical CV / resume, download some apps I have made, or check out my application portfolio. |

I'm an English teacher.

I'm an enthusiastic, hard-working teacher, and have received great feedback from students and colleagues. I have taught one-to-one with private students, and have worked in Japanese junior and senior high schools with a wide range of ability. You can look at my teaching CV / resume, or check out my feedback. |

I also think a lot about life.

The meaning of life? To love and be loved. I think this topic is really important, so it's something I've been researching. Happiness, and one's "meaning of life", seems to be the same thing. I think the general confusion is that people see "happiness" as self-satisfaction only, when in fact it's a range of feelings. Fundamentally, there are only two ways to increase your happiness:
I have written a bit about this topic. And if you're interested, a while back I wrote a program to try to predict new things you would be passionate about. |

I'm a web developer.
|
For my sites, I mainly use PHP and MySQL. I am not looking for development projects at this time, but am open to unusual projects where we share the work and the proceeds. You can look at my technical CV / resume, or check out my web design portfolio. |

I'm a Japanese speaker.
|
I have been learning Japanese since 2004. It's a lovely language, and the people are great. I worked as a receptionist and English helper in 2008 in an eye clinic in Tsunashima, Japan. While there were not a lot of English-speaking visitors, it was very good Japanese practice. I passed JLPT 3 in 2006, and am around JLPT 2 (business fluency) now. I really should take the exam. To check my current level, you can see my personal site in Japanese, or read my writings. |
